Formula 1 hitting the road again, Jerez test day one

Raikonen is back in a formula 1 car and seems to fit right in. He set the fastest lap of day one at jerez(full list below), though it is early days and this is when the big boys tend to hide, such as Red Bull McLaren and Ferrari. obviously you don't want you opposition knowing that your new innovations work early enough for everyone to replicate it. Full unofficial times below.

The big boys also have nothing to prove, Lotus Renault took a big risk with raikonen, hes been out of a car for two years and this would have been a critical test of his capabilities so with the engineers and analyst breathing down his neck i would imagine Kimi wouldn't be hanging about.
All the other teams gave their usuall BS about their delays or short time on the track, no surprise and the same old there......

Rubens barrachello has not succeeded in securing a drive in formula 1 this year but had a very successfully test with his buddy Tony Kanaan in IndyCar with the KV Racing Technology team and set the fastest laptime of the day, my cousin says (you will be hearing alot of his opinion) he isn't surprised due to the high levels of fitness and agility required to drive a formula 1 car and Rubens' skill would fit nicely behind the wheel of the KV car. He has spoken to the press and has announced he will announce his future plans.. sorry even i got confused writing that last sentence

Whilst i am strongly against DRS (well i like DRS, its the part about only the chasing car alludes to use it that really grinds my gears) last year was an exiting season and 2012 should be of a similar awesomeness.

Here are the unofficial times of the Jerez test
1. Kimi Raikkonen, Lotus, 1:19.670, 73 Laps
2. Paul di Resta, Force India, 1:19.772, 101 Laps
3. Nico Rosberg, Mercedes, 1:20.219, 56 Laps
4. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 1:20.496, 53 Laps
5. Daniel Ricciardo, Toro Rosso, 1:20.694, 57 Laps
6. Michael Schumacher, Mercedes, 1:20.794, 41 Laps
7. Kamui Kobayashi, Sauber, 1:21.353, 106 Laps
8. Jenson Button, McLaren, 1:21.530, 60 Laps
9. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 1:22.815, 69 Laps
10. Heikki Kovalainen, Caterham, 1:23.178, 28 Laps
11. Pastor Maldonado, Williams, 1:23.371, 25 Laps
12. Pedro de la Rosa, HRT, 1:23.676, 44 Laps

I was recently at hooton park with the new kart, there is still alot of set up work to do but overall a very fun day and managed to give a few formula blues a good run for thier money! a few pictures with the old body,
